About the app (Japanese)

Frequently asked questions

Can I download the app now?

The app is being prepared for release. Availability will be announced on the app page (Japanese).

What will I learn?

Learn the meanings and conversational uses of 325 Japanese four-character idioms through four-panel manga and quizzes. Activities include random learning, review quizzes, idiom karuta, assembling four kanji, choosing an idiom for a conversation, and putting manga panels in order. This is a selected collection, not a guarantee of complete school or exam coverage.

Who is it for, and what devices does it support?

The Japanese version is primarily for children in elementary school grades 3–6. The English version is for learners of Japanese, including children and adults. Android 8.1 or later in portrait orientation is planned. An iOS release date has not been set.

Can I switch between Japanese and English?

Choose a display language in Settings → Display. English explains meanings, conversations and quizzes in English. The learning content remains Japanese four-character idioms, not English idioms.

What can I use for free?

Under the current offering, you can learn 30 idioms free with no time limit. There are no ads or subscriptions.

How do I unlock all lessons?

In Settings, expand Unlock all lessons and press its Unlock all lessons button to open the purchase screen. One purchase unlocks the 295 additional idioms, for 325 in total, including both basic and advanced lessons. Check the price, currency and payment terms on Google Play before confirming a purchase. Children should discuss purchases with a parent or guardian.

How do I restore a purchase?

Use the Google Play account used for the purchase, then choose Restore purchases under Unlock all lessons in Settings. An internet connection and the store’s requirements apply. Restoring a purchase does not restore learning records. If it fails, tell support the message shown and the steps you tried.

How do I back up or restore learning records?

Learning records are stored on your device. There is no app login or automatic sync between devices. Go to Settings → Learning data → Backup and restore to save a password-protected encrypted backup. Restoring requires that file and its password. It replaces your current records, so export anything you need to keep first. Purchase rights, display language and color theme are not included in backups.

What if I forget the backup password?

We do not store backup passwords and cannot unlock a backup or issue a replacement password. This is separate from restoring a purchase. Keep the backup file and password safe.

Can I use the app offline?

Learning activities that use content stored on your device, such as reading bundled lessons, do not require an internet connection. Purchases, purchase restoration, checking the latest entitlement and viewing web policy pages require one. When purchase status cannot be checked, availability can depend on the last confirmed status and your circumstances.

How do I delete records or request deletion of information?

Clear the app’s storage in Android app settings or uninstall it to remove local learning records and settings. Back up anything you need first. Delete exported backups separately at their storage location. For Google Play or RevenueCat purchase-related information, or support correspondence, contact support. Clearing app data or uninstalling is not a refund or deletion of all purchase records.

How can I ask about a refund?

Refunds follow Google Play’s refund process and applicable law. Clearing app data or requesting deletion of purchase-related information does not automatically refund a purchase. Contact us if you need help.

The website template leaves device and app-version details for you to enter. The app’s own email template automatically includes the app name, Application ID, version and build type; you can review it before sending. Learning records, logs and files are not attached automatically. Children should ask a parent or guardian for help, and should not send unnecessary personal information.
